Malvern Panalytical is pleased to offer this in-person training course at our facility in Norcross, Georgia. The course covers the principles of chemisorption and techniques, including temperature-programmed analysis, static, and pulse chemisorption.

Who Should Attend:
Technicians, analysts, lab managers, researchers, and anyone needing to operate and/or interpret and understand results generated from a catalyst analyzer should attend this course. The course will utilize the latest 3Flex and ASAP 2020+, but most course material is also applicable to users of previous models. The course is extremely beneficial to the entry-level operator and moderately experienced users wishing to expand their capability.

Preparation:
A course packet consisting of recorded lectures and e-learning modules must be completed prior to arrival. These will be distributed by the instructors electronically one week prior. The time spent in person with our instructors will be focused on practical elements. Prior hands-on experience with the instrument is helpful but not required to attend.

Background:
The 3Flex is a fully automated catalyst characterization system capable of high precision chemisorption and temperature programmed analyses, including TPR, TPO, TPD, TPSR, pulse chemisorption, and static chemisorption, whereas the ASAP 2020+ is limited to static chemisorption only. Its advanced temperature and gas flow control, high sensitivity TCD detector provide exceptional accuracy, reproducibility, and resolution for detailed evaluation of catalytic materials. Multiple pre plumbed gas streams significantly improve laboratory efficiency and operator safety. The versatility, and sensitivity of the 3Flex and ASAP 2020+ make it an ideal platform for research and quality control applications across catalysts, battery materials, fuel cell technologies, zeolites, oxides, advanced ceramics, clean energy materials, and other reactive or functional solids.

Curriculum :

• The instrument components and how they operate.
• Sample preparation, including sample quantity, and sample loading.
• Hands-on analyses, including:
• Temperature programmed (Reduction, oxidation, decomposition, and desorption).
• Pulse and Static chemisorption.
• An overview of chemisorption theory, including techniques.
• Utilization of all software features and the programming of sample files to efficiently obtain accurate and reproducible data
• The customization and editing of all available reports and graphs, including reference and specification reports, plot overlays, data exporting, and SPC reports
• Data reduction, including automatic peak integration, and peak deconvolution. and the use of MicroActive software.
• Operator Maintenance with a member of our Service Department to discuss troubleshooting and user-maintenance.
