Active Area of Heterogeneous Catalysts: Chemisorption and Temperature Programmed Methods

May 19, 2020

Overview

Does better evaluation of catalyst efficiency and selectivity matter to you? To comprehensively characterize a catalyst, important parameters like metal dispersion, number of active surface sites, redox properties, acidity and activation energy can be measured by various analytical techniques.

In our webinar, Dr. Luca Lucarelli, Technology Application Consultant with Micromeritics and highly experienced in the field of catalyst characterization, will address and describe available methods that enhance the knowledge of catalytic reaction mechanisms.

Luca Lucarelli, PhD

Senior Application Scientist

Luca graduated from Milan State University in 1988 with a degree in Industrial Chemistry, focusing on heterogeneous catalyst characterization by adapting a commercial physisorption instrument into a static-manometric chemisorption unit. Before joining Micromeritics as a Senior Application Specialist in 2019, he held various positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific. With over 35 years of experience, Luca is an expert in material and catalyst characterization techniques such as physisorption, mercury porosimetry, gas pycnometry, chemisorption, and temperature-programmed techniques.
